How much does a mural cost in India?
A hand-painted mural typically costs ₹180 to ₹1,500 per sq ft. Simple line art and stylised work sits at the low end, detailed illustration in the middle, and fine-art or photorealistic painting at the top. Printed wall murals start at about ₹100 per sq ft. A 10 by 8 ft wall is 80 sq ft, so a hand-painted mural on it costs roughly ₹14,400 to ₹1,20,000.
How long does a hand-painted mural take?
Design takes a few days of back and forth. Once the design is approved, a 100 sq ft mural is usually painted on site in three to six days, depending on detail. A printed mural is installed in a day.
How long does a mural last?
Indoors, a hand-painted acrylic mural sealed with a clear coat typically lasts 10 years or more. Outdoors, sun and rain shorten that to roughly 5 to 8 years before it needs touching up; a UV-resistant varnish extends it.
Should I choose a hand-painted mural or a wallpaper mural?
A printed or wallpaper mural is cheaper, faster and removable. A hand-painted mural costs more but is one of a kind, can wrap corners, ceilings and uneven walls, and is repaired by touching up instead of replacing. We recommend based on the surface, the look you want and the timeline.
Do you paint murals in villas and homes?
Yes. We paint murals for staircases, courtyards, kids' rooms, puja rooms and compound walls. Through Wall Vocab you design the mural with us first, and designing is free; you pay only if you decide to build.
